Rhode Island Public Library Construction Projects

The following public libraries are under construction or have signed agreements for construction reimbursement:

The following projects have been completed since the construction reimbursement was reinstated in April 1998:

  • Tiverton Public Library (completed June 2015)
  • Westerly Public Library (completed May 2011)
  • Rogers Free Library, Bristol (completed September 2008)
  • Jesse M. Smith Memorial Library, Burrillville (completed April 2008)
  • Cumberland Public Library (completed November 2006)
  • Barrington Public Library (completed January 2006)
  • Riverside Branch, East Providence Public Library (completed September 2005)
  • East Greenwich Free Library (completed June 2004)
  • Exeter Public Library (completed September 2004)
  • Middletown Public Library (completed January 2004)
  • Rochambeau Branch, Providence Public Library (completed November 2003)
  • Hope Library (Scituate) (completed October 2003)
  • South Providence Branch, Providence Public Library (completed September 2003)
  • Portsmouth Free Public Library (completed May 2002)
  • Island Free Library (Block Island) (completed November 2001)
  • Woonsocket Harris Public Library (completed September 2001)
  • Newport Public Library (completed July 2001)
  • Cumberland Public Library (June 2000; under construction at time of program reinstatement)

Applications Filed

The following libraries have filed applications for construction reimbursement funding. State funds have not yet been committed to these projects:
