The Office of Library and Information Services supports and promotes library services to young adults with consultant and reference services, and by planning and coordinating monthly Young Adult Round Table (YART) meetings at libraries throughout the State.
- Young Adult Round Table (YART): YART is a monthly meeting of librarians, including YA librarians from public libraries, middle and high school librarians, and library school students concerned with all aspects of library service to young adults. Meetings focus on different genres or topics in YA literature, innovative programs, services, technology, marketing/public relations, and social issues affecting teenagers. Meeting topics for the year are determined at an organizational meeting held each June. Meeting are generally led by Rhode Island young adult librarians, but occasionally feature outside speakers from other young-serving organizations in Rhode Island or national speakers.
